The best time to change the batteries in your smoke detector is at daylight savings time. But how easy is it to forget? If you’re anything like me, you don’t remember when you are at the store and when you are home and do remember, you don’t have a 9 volt battery.
Well one way we as a church can reach out to the community around is through serving them by trying to meet their needs. So for the next couple of weeks , we want to have a battery drive! When you are at the store, pick up a few packs of 9 volt batteries and bring them to the church. We have silver pails in the sanctuary for you to place them in. The last day to bring them is Oct. 6 (3 weeks from today!).
Then on October 13, we will meet that afternoon to go door to door in the neighborhoods behind the church and give them away. We will have them placed in door hanger bags – you won’t be required to have conversations unless you want to. The bag will also contain a postcard from our church inviting them to our Fall Festival a little later in October. All you will need to do is hang the bag on the door. Let’s work together to show the love of Christ to our neighborhood in a tangible way!
